The STAHLWERK CT-550 ST is a TIG and MMA combination welding machine with 200 amps and 50 amps plasma cutting function. The CT-550 ST is equally suitable for processing thin sheet metal and thicker sheet metal. The areas of application are therefore very diverse. The 3-in-1 combination device achieves a cutting performance of up to 12 mm when plasma cutting. Stainless steel sheets and metals that have flash rust and paint can also be cut very well with the CT-550 ST. Despite the extensive functions, the CT-550 ST combination welder is powerful and reliable thanks to advanced IGBT technology. The CT-550 ST comes with an extensive accessories package.

Features

  • DC TIG welding - direct current (DC). Welding of almost all metals, such as steel, stainless steel, copper and much more. Note: Not suitable for aluminum - an AC/DC device is required for this.
  • Plasma / CUT - Electricity is used to generate a plasma jet that melts the material, which is then removed with compressed air. This means that all conductive metals such as standard steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, titanium and much more can be cut precisely with ease.
  • Cutting thickness - Separating cuts are possible up to 12 mm, depending on the material. Structural steel ST37 up to 12 mm, V2A or V4A up to 8 mm, aluminum up to 5 mm.
  • 3 in 1 combination device - TIG & MMA welding is possible up to 200A, plasma cutting up to 50A.
  • IGBT technology - Latest and most modern transistor technology enables high performance when welding! No transformer, no MOSFET, state-of-the-art IGBT!
  • Lightweight & compact design - only 7.5 kg weight and dimensions of 420 x 180 x 290 mm. Innovative IGBT transistors save space and weight compared to old MOSFET technology. No more heavy carrying!

Features & Benefits

  • HF ignition (TIG) - enables contactless ignition and ensures a significantly better welding result. No LIFT ARC, no strike ignition!
  • Contact ignition (CUT) - High frequency (HF) contact ignition for first-class ignition performance. A swipe over the workpiece is enough.
  • Cutting current (CUT) - Continuous adjustment from 15 to 50 A.
  • Air follow-up (CUT) - After the cutting process has ended, air flows in to cool the torch and reduce wear on the nozzle and electrode.
  • Gas follow-up (TIG) - protects the tungsten electrode from excessive wear and protects the weld seam from oxidation. The parameter can be set individually and separately. It indicates how long gas should flow after ignition.

  • Hotstart - Automatic voltage increase at start for better ignition results.
  • Anti-Stick - Automatic shutdown of the welding current if the electrode sticks allows for easy removal.
  • Highest efficiency & performance - single-phase alternating current (230V) supplies the device and allows an output power of real 200 amps.
  • Smart cooling & overheating protection - State-of-the-art technology, integrated overheating protection and high-performance cooling enable maximum performance to be achieved.
  • TIG (tungsten inert gas) - inert gas welding with inert/inactive gases such as Argon 4.6 (99.996%). An arc is created in an argon bell between the tungsten electrode and the workpiece. This melts the material and any additional material that may be added. A weld seam is created.
  • MMA electrode welding / ARC welding - a universal welding process. An electric arc melts the electrode, forming the weld seam. No protective gas is required.
  •  Note: The device is not intended for use in residential areas where power is supplied via a public low-voltage supply system. It may be difficult to ensure electromagnetic compatibility in these areas due to both conducted and radiated interference.
  • Note: The connection can vary depending on the stick electrode. Please note the connection specification of the type of stick electrode used! When welding common DC electrodes, the connection is made as shown on the welding machine. When processing DC+ electrodes, the connections must be changed.
