STAHLWERK CTM-250 ST combination welding machine TIG + MIG/MAG + MMA/ARC + CUT/Plasma with 200 amp and 45 amp plasma function
The STAHLWERK CTM-250 ST is a versatile 4-in-1 combination welding machine with integrated CUT plasma cutting function. It combines TIG, MIG/MAG, MMA/MMA welding and plasma cutting in a compact 200 A inverter and thus covers the most important processes for workshops, assembly and ambitious DIY enthusiasts. Numerous welding and cutting parameters can be individually adjusted so that you can precisely adapt the device to the material, sheet thickness and work task. In MIG/MAG and FLUX operation, the CTM-250 ST processes solid and cored wires in common diameters of 0.6 to 1.0 mm (plus 0.9 mm for cored wire) - ideal for processing mild steel, stainless steel and cored wire applications. In DC TIG mode, the inverter enables clean, low-spatter seams on unalloyed and high-alloy steels, stainless steel, copper or brass, supported by adjustable parameters such as gas advance, gas follow-up and current increase/decrease. Functions such as hot start and anti-stick make ignition easier and prevent the electrode from sticking. Thanks to VRD voltage reduction, overheating protection, smart cooling and robust ST-Guard housing, the device is reliable and safe even in demanding use. A powerful 4-roller drive ensures a reliable wire feed, which continuously and safely transports even thicker welding wires during MIG MAG welding. Despite a wide range of functions, the device is not suitable for welding aluminum. The integrated 45 A plasma cutter works with compressed air and - depending on the material - achieves cutting performance of up to approx. 14 mm. This allows you to cleanly separate not only structural steel, but also stainless steel sheets as well as metals that have flash rust or paint. Despite the range of functions, the CTM-250 ST remains easy to transport with only around 12.9 kg and compact dimensions. The extensive accessory package with MIG, TIG and CUT torches, cables and wearing parts enables direct use.

Functions
- MIG/MAG welding (GMAW): metal arc welding with direct current for steel and stainless steel applications. Inactive/inert gases (MIG, e.g. argon) or active gases (MAG, e.g. CO2 or mixed gas 82/18 Ar/CO2) can be used. Gas and welding wire come out of the torch head together, so that even longer fillet welds can be welded comfortably with one hand. Adjustable wire diameters 0.6 / 0.8 / 1.0 mm allow optimal adaptation to sheet thickness and seam requirements.
- FLUX/cored wire welding (without gas): FLUX welding is based on the MIG/MAG process, but does not require an external shielding gas. Special cored wire (including 0.9 mm) creates its protective atmosphere through the core. The CTM-250 ST supports various wire guide rolls (U, V and knurled K profile) to process solid wire, aluminum wire and cored wire with consistent feed - ideal for outdoor use or locations without a gas cylinder.
- DC TIG welding (TIG): Tungsten inert gas welding with direct current of 20-200 A for high-quality, low-spatter welds. Suitable for unalloyed and high-alloy steels, stainless steel, copper, brass and comparable materials. With Argon 4.6 or higher as a protective gas and a TIG hose package with a tungsten electrode and additional rod, precise fine and visible seams can be produced. The expanded TIG menu includes, among other things: Gas flow, gas follow-up, current increase, current decrease are available to precisely control heat input and seam shape.
- MMA/MAC welding (ARC): Manual electrode welding with 20-180 A for coated stick electrodes. The process is suitable for universal use - from workshop to assembly work - and can also be used without any problems in windy or outdoor areas. Typical electrode diameters of 1.6 to 5.0 mm can be processed, which can cover material thicknesses from around 1 to over 8 mm. Hotstart makes ignition easier, anti-stick reduces sticking, while VRD lowers the idle voltage when idle.
- CUT plasma cutting with 45 A: Plasma cutting with currents of 15-45 A and compressed air (4 bar). The arc melts the material, the compressed air removes the melt pool and thus creates the separating cut. Suitable for all conductive metals such as structural steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass or titanium, with cutting performance up to approx. 14 mm (depending on the material). The contact ignition makes starting easier: A brief touch on the workpiece is enough and contact is maintained for the cut.
- 4-roller drive - A powerful 4-roller drive ensures a reliable wire feed, which continuously and safely transports even thicker welding wires during MIG MAG welding.
- Automatic wire feed: The welding wire is automatically pulled off the wire roll and guided via the wire feed unit through the hose package to the contact tip. The feed speed automatically adjusts to the set welding current, supporting a constant arc and even penetration.
- 2-stroke/4-stroke operation: In MAG and DC TIG operation you can choose between 2-stroke and 4-stroke. 2-stroke is suitable for short welding spots, 4-stroke relieves the strain on longer seams because the torch trigger does not have to be kept pressed permanently.
- Voltage and Arc Width Correction (MIG/FLUX): The device offers adjustable open voltage (13-28V) and limited voltage and arc width correction from -5 to +5. Penetration, droplet size and arc width can be fine-tuned to optimally influence the weld seam and spatter formation.

Properties & advantages
- 4-in-1 solution with integrated plasma cutter: One device covers TIG, MIG/MAG, MMA/MAW welding and CUT plasma cutting. This reduces investment costs, space requirements and set-up times, as no equipment change is required for welding and cutting the same workpieces.
- High power reserves with compact dimensions: With 20-200 A in MIG/MAG and TIG operation, 20-180 A in MMA mode and 15-45 A when cutting, the CTM-250 ST offers sufficient power reserve - even for thicker cross sections. At the same time, the device remains handy and transport-friendly at only approx. 12.9 kg and 480 x 210 x 380 mm, ideal for mobile use.
- Solid duty cycle for everyday practice: The duty cycle of 15% at 200 A and 60% at 100 A (MIG/WIG) as well as 15% at 45 A in CUT mode allows the maximum power to be used at intervals and continuous work in the medium power range - ideal for repairs, constructions and small series.
- Modern IGBT technology and smart cooling: The integrated IGBT power electronics ensure a stable arc, high energy efficiency and low weight. In combination with the powerful fan and overheating protection, reliable continuous operation is possible; In the event of an overload, the device switches off in a timely manner and automatically switches off again after it has cooled down.
- Safe working thanks to VRD, Hotstart & Anti-Stick: The VRD function reduces the no-load voltage in MMA operation as soon as welding is not taking place - a safety plus when changing or putting down the electrode. Hotstart improves ignitability, anti-stick reduces sticking and puts less strain on the electrode and device.
- Finely adjustable welding parameters for MIG/MAG & TIG: Voltage and arc width correction allow the MIG/FLUX arc to be precisely adjusted, e.g. B. for deeper penetration or softer seam transitions. In TIG operation, gas advance, gas follow-up, current increase and current decrease are available to precisely control heat input and seam appearance - particularly helpful for thin sheets and demanding visible seams.
- Ergonomic ST-Guard housing & intuitive control panel: The robust ST-Guard housing reliably protects the electronics and is ergonomically designed at the same time. The clear control panel with digital display for current and voltage, process selection button, wire diameter selection, gas and mode buttons enables quick, logical setting of all parameters - even for less experienced users.
- Flexible in terms of wire and use: By selecting different wire diameters and suitable wire guide rollers (V, K), the device can be operated with solid, stainless steel and cored wires. This makes the CTM-250 ST a universal partner for body work, workshop repairs, steel construction, railings, tanks and many other applications.
- Extensive accessories for immediate start: The scope of delivery includes fully equipped MIG, TIG and CUT torches, gas and air connections, wire guide rollers, contact tips and other accessories. This means that the device can be used immediately after connecting electricity, gas and compressed air without having to retrofit additional basic components.
Note: The device is not intended for use in residential areas where power is supplied from a public low-voltage power supply system. It may be difficult to ensure electromagnetic compatibility in these areas due to both conducted and radiated interference.
